Yesterday, I had a visit from a man born in Malawi.  He saw the picture of a Masai on my wall and told me how they drink the blood of their cattle.

Later that night, I was watching the Stanford nueroendocrinologist, Robert Sapolsky lectures and he mentioned the same cultural practice.  He mentioned it with great gesticulation and intensity designed for a little laughter from his students, whereas my visitor was just calm and matter of fact.  Just gives me a sense that my world is connected.

For a long time I have been saying I cant travel but I the world is coming to my door .. its my way of addressing the excessive western cultural practice of burning up jet fuel and boasting about it in public forums ... tut tut.

By the way ... I dont think Sapolsky is mad .. I am just commenting on relevant things in my life ... I know the difference between data and datum, and will watch a few more of his lectures. Just keeping up to date, little things like stimulate my mind positively ... I didnt make the connection last night ... but now as I am typing.

Ah! the value of ....our own gaze.
