Re: Craft Corner

@Maggie @Former-Member and any interested, here's my show and tell today. I'll varnish it tomorrow so it will be shiny then but here it is for now. I challenged myself to use toothpicks and skewers. I need practice but it was good to try.

And here's one I did recently. All metallic ๐Ÿ˜

They are so much fun to play with and so calming to do (when they don't annoy the :pile_of_poo: out of me haha!)

@Former-Member very cool to pick up some knitting. I got myself very tangled trying knitting. That looks very tricky! Hope you enjoy making it.

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear

Not difficult at all, is stocking stitch, the chenille look comes from the  wool used.

Re: Craft Corner

@Former-Member  That looks lovely. I used to knit. I hope the needle arenโ€™t too dusty. Love a pic, if you would like to share , when you are up and running. ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿงถ๐Ÿงถ

Re: Craft Corner

Oh wow, I mean wow @CheerBear they are stunning. I love the colours, and the dots are perfect. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

I can post a demo of the spiral if you would like. Itโ€™s very easy once you know how, like most things. I donโ€™t want to be pushy though, or sound like a know all, cos I know very little. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Re: Craft Corner

Knitting of any kind is hard I think @Former-Member. I can crochet but not knit. Something about two sticks doesn't work for me. The chenille would be so soft and snuggly โค

Thanks @Maggie ๐Ÿ˜Š. I am so glad you introduced me to dotting! And to making the stones. They're heaps of fun to paint on!

I'd love to see a demo if you wouldn't mind. You're not pushy at all and I am learning so much from you!

Re: Craft Corner

Youโ€™re a natural @CheerBear  Your enthusiasm keeps me going. ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Thereโ€™s the demo

Re: Craft Corner

Oh that is so clever @Maggie. I didn't go in the middle of each dot with the new colour and it didn't work (of course ๐Ÿ˜‚).

She's awesome. I love her canvas ones especially.

Re: Craft Corner

She has a Facebook page @CheerBear . She lost her husband to cancer, thatโ€™s how she started dotting. Itโ€™s an amazing art, for all sorts of reasons. She has bird boxes, and sells her stones. She has a rooster demo, which I would like to try. Looking for a stencil.

I sat with that pattern when I was teaching my ladies. I worked for a day figuring it out, then my lady changed her mind. I wish I had this demo back then. Oh well.

Re: Craft Corner

@CheerBear  ... wow ... you've done so well.  Looks pretty perfect to me. ๐Ÿ‘  I particularly love the metalic looking one I think ... something about the autumn/metalic colouring in it.  Very impressive you pair of dotters I must say @CheerBear @Maggie   ๐Ÿ’•

@Former-Member  ... the jumper looks great, and I'm sure it will look fab once you get it done.  Picture please ๐Ÿ˜Š

I used to do some knitting when I was younger, but always preferred crochet.  I did quite a bit of crochet, up until I got married really.  Now I never seem to find the time.  Really should try to track down my hooks and give it another go.  Havent seen them since we moved up here 11 years ago though .. probably best to buy new ones.
