I think I’m going to have a little break from the forum. I’m not sure how long I’ll last. I’ve fallen down a hole and need to work out how to climb back up by myself. I’ll be ok though. I have my psych appointment tomorrow that I hope helps too.
Hugs to all 💜🤗

Hi @Teej
I know you will bounce back you always do. I have an appointment tomorrow too with my psych. I'm just waiting on some washing and then going to bed soon. Not feeling tired yet.

I’m wondering if anyone has a good book or article on identity and/or personality.

Nothing I can think of off-hand @Teej but more than happy to discuss the ideas of identity/personality with you

Lol @Zoe7 Right now I have bugger all personality and an identity deficit 😜. On a serious note though, I am struggling with trying to understand lots. I am really lost and confused as to how to develop them in a healthy way. I have a feeling that I’m a therapy tragic 😖

For what it is worth @Teej I don't think you have bugger all personality or an identity deficit. I actually see you as a very humourus and self aware person. Although you struggle at times with where you are sitting in your life - you do continue to connect here and it is often not only with wisdom but also with care - that further shows us who you are.
So much of our identity is formed when younger and if we have been through trauma it can make us feel like we have lost what we could have been rather than identifying who we are now - some of that is as a result of what we have been through but it also - I think - gives us more empathy ...and that you certainly have.
I have no doubt that you are second guessing your positives right now and letting that negative mind take over - but I am also sure that all of us here can see your positives - because they are many

I know of an article @Teej, but it talks about the development of identity from the perspective of adolescence. I think any crisis in life that is an existential one can throw us back into this continuum, and we have to find our way around in it again.
I think I have gone through at least a couple of mini-versions of this ..... exploring and re-establishing a slightly different version of my identity within the current reality I found myself in. I think I am far from alone in that .....
