My Avatar is a photo of the Red-Faced Parrot-Finch from New Caledonia.
I've kept several pairs of them in my aviary, over the past 20 years or so.
It's my favourite Finch species. They're a very active bird, with a lovely trill (call).

I love reading biographies @Queenie. Gives you interesting insight beyond what is usually only seen in the public eye.
Yep - I'm in the milky way @MDT - we are just a miniscule part of it.
That pic is so cute @Bella1978 - it did make me smile.
Nice birds @Adge - hope all yours are doing well.
@utopia - everytime I see a cockatoo, I think of you.
Might be time to change my avatar soon. Probably still keep it as a jellyfish though.

There are so many intersting Avatars around the forums. Really enjoying the diversity and noticing a bit of a nature theme 🌱🌻🌈
Mine is from the tv show Daria - which was one of my favourite things to watch when I was younger. I appreciate the humour of the writers (a sucker for sarcasm) and I like how it has a few quirky female lead characters.
In my avatar, Daria is also reading a book - and I spend most of my free time reading. I love learning about new things and I love how reading a book can sometimes change your perspective on things in really interestng ways.
Anyway that's my avatar. Look forward to reading more about yours! 🐀

I loved that show @Former-Member. Yes, Daria has such a dry sense of humour. I don't read books nearly enough these days. Tend to look at stuff on the Internet but there's something special about turning paper pages that I miss.
