Stopping my antipsychotics

I saw my psychiatrist yesterday. I had a really good appointment, I am finally going to cease taking my antipsychotic. In the 10 or so years I've been seeing mental health services I never thought this day would come.

I'm so proud of how far I've come. It's kinda surreal.

Wow @The-red-centaur sounds like this is a really big step for you.

So glad that you're able to take this opportunity to step back for a second and recognise just how far you've come! I'm proud of you too, I'm sure it's been a whole lot of hard work to be where your are. Is there anything nice you can do for yourself today as a little form of celebration?

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

@Ru-bee the weather is great so om going to minigolf with my support worker.

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

That sounds like such a fun afternoon @The-red-centaur! Let us know who wins 😄

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

I won. I also got 2 hole in ones.

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

Yooooo @The-red-centaur gratz on coming off the meds, what a milestone!! And double whammy on the golf course too? You're soaring! Haha

When does the process kick off? You got stuff in place for the adjustment period?

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

@Jynx I half the dose for 2 weeks starting this morning. Then I'm off it.

I'll have my support workers around. And the mental health team is always there if I need them.

Re: Stopping my antipsychotics

@The-red-centaur yeah nice! Hope you've also got heaps of colouring books ready to go! 😊
