@Bunniekins was it that? or was it "whatever doesn't k1ll us, gives us better (or unhealthy) coping mechanisms"?

@Bunniekins oh no! hmm yeah, apart from the old line of "just checking in seeing how you're going, as I've noticed you are drinking a little more than usual", I'm not too sure what else you could say. Apart from maybe bringing up a bad personal experience, or friends experience, also ending the conversation with the usual "I'm here if you ever need to talk". I know first hand how sons isolate themselves and only emerge from their hermit cave for food and toilet breaks.

@Sparky79 yeah is hard as he is 34 so is not a kid and he could tell me to mind my own business. i just dont want him to end up with big problems later on.... you have some good ideas thank you i will put them to memory.

@Bunniekins That's why in my old house (that I regretfully sold) I set up the rear lounge for my son to play xbox, so at least he was in a family communal area.

@Sparky79 good idea re xbox all my kids were geeks so were either on the playstation or on their computers. my daughter loved the ducks and chooks in particular and would swim in the pond with the ducks in the back yard 😄
