Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello FiFi85

and

@Emelia8, @Anastasia , @NatureLover , @Appleblossom , @greenpea

and other members visiting this thread

FiFi85, I really like your wish for and work toward inclusiveness.

In no way do I wish to exclude any other members, I would simply like equal rights, with no more expectation of being imposed upon, than I wish to impose upon others, in spaces where they feel most comfortable. However, in any large families, such as the "SANE family", there are always areas in which, and company with whom we may feel more comfortable than others. What I wish to work towards is as broad a range of options available as possible and reasonable, for the range of styles and personalities evident in this broader SANE family.

I believe, that in this thread, where greetings for such occasions as Christmas and New year have been offered, I and others here, have included in those greetings, members who at various times, have not otherwise wished to participate in the threads, specifically the two established by me. However, all who may wish to be included, and enjoy participation in these threads, are always welcomed by those who are here more often.

With a quick glance back through some of the posts, it will be evident that people have been included, encouraged and acknowledged with their forum addresses and appreciation expressed for their input by other members and me.

I am sure that this style of interaction will continue, so long as there is freedom to do so.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

The content of the videos on this and the following post are ones in which I thought other members may also be interested. I have given the introduction to each and the respective site links.

All website links can be accessed directly via the links offered within the text of this and the following post.

The first of the videos consists of a five part series entitled:

10 Things to Know About Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

In this 5-part video series, Dr. Colleen Bridger, MPH, PhD., discusses how childhood trauma is a critical public health issue. Referred to as
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's), ACE's are stressful and traumatic events, such as abuse or neglect, that have been linked to poor life-long health outcomes. As the number of ACE's increases (for a particular individual), so does the likelihood for developing chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer as well as risky health behaviours; low life potential; and early death. During this presentation, attendees will be introduced to ACE’s, the impact they have on health, and what can be done to overcome them.

The learning objectives for this 5-part video include:

  • Discuss the prevalence and causes of ACE's and their impact on the developing brain and bodies of children.

  • Discuss Trauma Informed Care as a system-based strategy to mitigate the effects of ACEs and help children heal from the (associated) trauma-induced toxic stress.

  • Learn about strategies (in San Antonio) aimed at creating a trauma informed city {community}.

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @Anastasia

And thank you so much for scones, jam and cream. You've sussed out my favourites.

In a way I'm keeping a low profile. Placing mental activity into moving to a better place at the moment. Though I have written a couple of epics on the forum lately. But I have been trying to keep my expressions moderate. A lot of my contacts at the moment consist of acknowledgements by "support".

Likewise, I do hope that everything is settling down for you. Possibly, in neutral at the present time. I remember how it was for me, nearly three years ago.

I am very pleased to be able to share an evening contact with you, and at least the thought of scones, jam and cream. In fact, I may have a little port shortly. For many years, I have avoided drinking on my own, but now I am relaxing a little. A quiet pleasant setting. {Not my own.}

My thoughts are with you @Anastasia , and the other members whose company I also enjoy. Thank you for keeping me in mind and I am always happy to share thoughts and ideas, simple or complex.

With My Very Best Wishes

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hello @RedHorse

I noticed, in another thread, that you have said that you are not feeling the best.

Is there any way that assistance can be offered. Might it be helpful to have a chat with someone? If it might help, I would be pleased to connect here, with you, and talk about whatever you wish.

Those feelings of weakness, confusion and apparent in-ability to even attempt basic activities are, unfortunately, quite familiar to me. The aloneness is also something with which I can identify. My daughter and grandson mean, for me, that the thought of SH or S is kept out of the picture, for the most part. However, I do understand and can appreciate how such feelings might arise and be considered.

If you feel up to connecting here, or anywhere else on the forum, I will be around for a while. I am just about to prepare a drink and will be back shortly.

With Care, Concern and Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Henry's Landing Strip & Hangar

Hi @HenryX and thanks for reaching out.

I don't really feel up to chatting right now but appreciate your care, concern and well wishes.

Your kind message brought tears to my eyes (in a good way).

I will come and visit your landing strip and hangar again when I'm feeling a bit more talkative.

Take care,
RedHorse 🌹🐴
