I would take Toby everywhere with me if I could -m I even looked into him being a therapy dog but there is no way he would reach the criteria ...he won't even come when I call him unless he wants to lol In saying that he is never far from me though so apart from the beach he is never far away. He loves to run on the beach and will often get way aheadm of me then looks back to make sure I am still there and goes a bit further - it is kind of cute but also lucky it is safe on the beach. He also goes up to anyone - loves the attention which is so opposite to his mum lol
Your mum's dog does sound like he was much like Toby - they do become our close companions and when we have had that relationship it is a wonderful thing to have in our lives.
My parents have 3 dogs and we call them our brothers and sisters too - just as my sister's dog is my nephew - it is strange to some people how we tslk about our furry companions but it works for us so that is all that is important @Mazarita.
I am going to have to begin to get things sorted soon before I go to my sister's so if I am slow replying that is why.
Did you get much sleep last night or are you still running on a couple of hours per night?

@Zoe7, it's wonderful that you have such a loving relationship with Toby. He's seen you through the roughest of times and into better places now (though I know it's still not easy for you). One of my favourite things when I walk on the beach is watching the dogs frolic. They seem the freest and most joyful creatures there!
Funny how Toby wouldn't qualify as a therapy dog, he's so cheeky. In another way, it's a pity that he doesn't fit the bill. Still, I'm sure you wouldn't want him any other way.
As you can see, I am taking a bit of time with replies too, having breakfast and some communication via email with friends, real and virtual, that I sent greetings to in the middle of last night.
I've had about four hours sleep so far overnight. Will get some more before going to friend's place today.

Four hours is good for you @Mazarita Hope you get a littl more this morning before you head to yur friends.
I have been cutting Toby's hair but need to do it in stages - as long as I get around his eyes done he'll be able to see lol. His hair does grow pretty fast. He needs a haircut each month and it has been at least that since I last did it. He also desperately needs a bath so that is my next 'adventure' this morning. He is a good boy in the tub - he just sits and lets me wash him - got him used to it when he was a little puppy so he is okay with it now too.
I do love my little fella as if he was a child ...and he is just as spoilt lol
I love watching the dogs on the beach too - they look so free and happy - just as they should be.
Better get some more of Toby's hair cut - will be around though.

@Zoe7, nice chatting about Toby, as well as my mum's Sam.
I'm going to head back to bed now. Have a wonderful day!
@CheerBear, I think you might be around too now, just as I'm heading off for more sleep. Hope your day is wonderful too.

Thanks for the chat too @Mazarita I am not going to cut anymore of Toby's hair today - he can see out of his eyes now so the rest can wait. I will give him a bath soon then jump in the shower myself afterwards.
Hi @CheerBear that sounds so wonderful with your LF - that is what christmas is all about CB - family and the joy it brings to the kids - so special. Enjoy your slime making - the kids will love it.
Toby doesn't play with frisbees or balls - he has never been interested in them - he does have his special toys that he plays with - at least I know he is kept occupied when I am not home - giving him planty of toys to play with when he was young has meant he left the furniture and shoes alone and played with his toys instead - he may have been spoilt but it saved the furniture and shoes getting chewed.

Morning all! @Mazarita @CheerBear @Zoe7 @Sans911 @Teej @outlander@greenpea
@TAB @Sophia1 @Faith-and-Hope @Appleblossom @Carlachris @Dadcaringalone @PeppiPatty and everyone reading here today. Sending all my hope that today is enjoyable and peaceful for all no matter what is happening - celebrations for those who do and self-care for those who don't.
Big night here last night with 10 adults, 2 children and 3 dogs! Had more than usual to drink - punch can be misleading! And then finished the night with a quiet dram of drambui. So only up to supporting posts not composing one myself.
Just found out mum needs to go to hospital this morning. Might be back later.
