Thanks all for the good wishes.
Just home now from the Brisbane hospital. So I survived the operation.
The prognosis long term is poor but chemo apparently extends that out. I am just pretty sore but my mental state is good.
I am trying to get back to a normal, for me, life as I dont want to be treated as an invalid.
So I guess i will be participating in the forums for a little while yet.

Congradulations @kenny66 on making it through the operation, please get well soon, i have been thinking about you often, i am sorry about the long term prognosis, but please don't let that get you down, sometimes the doctors can not predict the longer term prognosis with great accuracy.
I really hope to see you around the forums.
Best wishes my friend.
Jacques

Hi
I havent started chemo yet because I dont think I would survive it. I dropped about 15kg in 5 weeks now.
I meet the oncology team next Monday but I have been told that chemo cant start until I heal because the chemo knocks your immune system.
I also need to bulk up because the chemo makes you lose further weight. So I think that is about 4-6 weeks away.
Fortunately I am up and about except walking makes me hurt quite a bit.
I have got good attitude with it though.
