NDIS defunding psychology

When the ndis had previously funded psychology supports, the recent trend has been to argue that you should instead use Medicare. This resource outlines why this is inappropriate.

Re: NDIS defunding psychology

@Gwynn this is so interesting and not something I knew was happening!

I think for me, who is not on NDIS, the out-of-pocket for therapy is so expensive. It definitely means I go much less frequently as I just can't afford it. Especially now.

I think others with definitely find this useful.

Has it impacted you at all or do you know how we can advocate for a change?

@Gwynn

Have you considered making a submission to the Disability Royal Commission about this.

it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to have these kind of issues heard and to make a practical change.

Re: NDIS defunding psychology

This is within a context that we know that people with disability have special mental health needs: https://theconversation.com/mental-distress-is-much-worse-for-people-with-disabilities-and-many-heal...
